Acme Enlightens The Australian National University

The capital city of Australia hosted the Enlighten Festival over the past 3 weeks, celebrating the amazing culture and creativity you can experience in Canberra.

Elite Event Technology has been appointed to creatively illuminate several unique sites across the city. One of them was a building within The Australian National University (ANU) campus.

"We have used 48 Acme Tour Pixel Bar IP65 rated fixtures to illuminate the fa?ade of this building within ANU, highlighting the architecture and creating festive vibes within the University Precinct," says Darren Russell, MD of Elite Event Technology.

"The Acme Tour Pixel Bar is a perfect fixture for temporary fa?ade illumination, punchy, reliable and weatherproof, which comes in very handy in Canberra. As with many prestige illumination projects we do around the city and beyond, when you light up the building of the world’s leading university, you need to make sure you choose reliable technology, that will deliver a superb result no matter the weather conditions or circumstances," comments Darren.

The ACME TOUR PIXEL BAR 1010 II is equipped with 10x 15W RGBW LEDs in a sleek, low-profile 1 meter bar housing, producing a bright linear beam pattern, with high quality color-mixing and flexible pixel control. The light-weight aluminum alloy unit is fitted with high-efficient optical lenses to keep the beam angle to a tight 10°. With its IP65 protection rating, the TOUR PIXEL BAR 1010 II is capable of handling even the most demanding environments.

The equally-spaced LEDs allow for the creation of seamless, multi-unit strips, in the horizontal or vertical orientation, with full pixel-mapping capabilities. Thanks to its all-important high IP65-rated housing, dust, rain, snow and other harsh weather conditions are no longer a problem – a major plus for a bar fixture of this type. Its fast and variable-speed strobe and smooth 0-100% dimming make this luminaire a great choice for a wide variety of applications.

The lighting sequences were pre-programmed by Chamsys MagicQ MQ80 console and then run on an Acme DMX Recorder. "For some of the evenings we had also programmed the Ukrainian Flag colors as recognition of our client, the University’s support of the Ukrainian people and the current situation over there," adds Darren.

Enlighten Festival shines a light on the dynamic and creative energy of Canberra, bringing together a program of amazing events and entertainment over 17 days, transforming the city and its surrounds into a spectacular display of art, music, food & entertainment.
